Daniel S. Schwartz
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Schwartz was appointed as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 7, 2013. Mr. Schwartz was appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Burger King in December 2010, effective January 1, 2011. Mr. Schwartz joined Burger King in October 2010 as Executive Vice President, Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Since January 2008, Mr. Schwartz has been a partner with 3G Capital, where he was responsible for managing 3G Capital’s private equity business. He joined 3G Capital in January 2005 as an analyst and worked with the firm’s public and private equity investments until November 2010. From March 2003 until January 2005, Mr. Schwartz worked for Altair Capital Management, a hedge fund located in Stamford, Connecticut, and served as an analyst in the mergers and acquisitions group at Credit Suisse First Boston from June 2001 to March 2003.
EVP, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Kobza was appointed to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective April 11, 2013. Mr. Kobza joined the Company in June 2012 as Director, Investor Relations, and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Global Finance in December 2012. From January 2011 until June 2012, Mr. Kobza, worked at SIP Capital, a São Paulo based private investment firm, where he evaluated investments across a number of industries and geographies. From July 2008 until December 2010, Mr. Kobza worked in the corporate private equity area of the Blackstone Group in New York City.
EVP, Global Chief Marketing Officer
Mr. Scwhan was appointed as Executive Vice President, Global Chief Marketing Officer of the Company in January 2014. Mr. Schwan served as Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Burger King Worldwide, Inc. Mr. Schwan has been an integral part of the Burger King Worldwides global marketing team since May 2011. He was Marketing Director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) at Burger King Worldwide. He has more than 13 years of experience as a restaurateur and brand innovator. Mr. Schwan served in various positions including Managing Partner, Marketing Director and Marketing Manager at other privately-held and consumer brand companies.
EVP, Chief Information, Performance and People Officer
Mr. Gonçalves oversees the information technology, Human Resources, Global G&A management, Global Shared Services, Supplier Quality Assurance & Food Safety and Global Procurement. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Gonçalves served in multiple strategic roles for AmBev and InBev, including corporate development, compensation and logistics. He joined the company as a logistics supervisor at Brahma in 1995, and later served as a sales operations and control manager, SAP implementation stream leader and corporate procurement manager. Mr. Gonçalves was promoted to CFO of Agrega at AmBev, a procurement enterprise in JV with British American Tobacco in 2002, where he was responsible for all financial operations as well as HR processes. Mr. Gonçalves was global VP rewards and target setting role at InBev where he was responsible for target setting and monitoring process worldwide. He was later promoted to head of Western Europe logistics at Anheuser-Busch InBev in charge of all logistics operations and planning for the region. Following that appointment, Mr. Gonçalves became global M&A director at Anheuser-Busch InBev, responsible for the budget and process support on a $7 billion divestiture program. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Gonçalves served as a business consultant at 3G Capital.
Mr. Gonçalves graduated from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) with a degree in mechanical engineering and a specialization in mecatronics and structure dynamics. He later earned his specialization in finance and operations from UFRJ’s Coppead Graduate School of Business, his executive MBA from Ibmec Business School and a specialization from the École de management de Lyon in international affairs.
EVP and President of North America
Mr. Macedo was appointed President of North America in April 2013. Mr. Macedo joined the Company in 2011 as SVP Marketing, North America, and later was General Manager of the North America Franchise Business. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Macedo was a founder and partner of True Marketing, a Brazilian based marketing consulting firm from 2008 to 2011. Prior to this, he was head of the Brahma Beer business unit at AmBev from 2003 through 2007. Mr. Macedo received an MBA from Insead in 2003 and BS from NYU Stern School of Business in 1998.
José E. Cil
EVP and President of Europe, Middle East and Africa
Mr. Cil has served as Executive Vice President and President of Europe, the Middle East and Africa since November 2010. Prior to this role, Mr. Cil was Vice President and Regional General Manager for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in Florida from February 2010 to November 2010. From September 2008 to January 2010, Mr. Cil served as Vice President of Company Operations of Burger King and from September 2005 to September 2008, he served as Division Vice President, Mediterranean and NW Europe Divisions, EMEA. Mr. Cil has been with the Company since 2000.
EVP, Global Development and President, Latin America and the Caribbean
Mr. Dias was appointed to the role of Executive Vice President, Global Development and President, Latin America and the Caribbean in April 2013. In this newly defined role, he will oversee the Company’s international growth plans and will manage the Latin America and Caribbean region. Previously, Mr. Dias served as Division Vice President, Western Division leading the P&L, sales and traffic, field marketing, franchisee relations and operations for this division.
Elías Díaz Sesé
EVP and President of Asia Pacific
Elías Díaz Sesé is Executive Vice President and President of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. In this role, Mr. Díaz Sesé is responsible for all operating decisions and the overall growth strategy for the APAC region. Prior to this role, Mr. Díaz Sesé was Senior Vice President of Continental Europe. Since joining the Company in September 2002, Mr. Díaz Sesé has held multiple roles of increasing responsibility.
Mr. Díaz Sesé joined BKC 10 years ago and has held positions of increasing responsibility throughout his tenure. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Continental Europe, and led the brand in 15 countries in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Previously, Díaz Sesé served as Vice President, franchise and emerging markets in EMEA, where he delivered strong net restaurant growth and introduced the brand to consumers in key growth markets. Prior to joining Burger King, Mr. Díaz Sesé held different positions in Decathlon (Auchan Group) within the legal and development departments in Europe. Mr. Díaz Sesé holds a postgraduate degree in global management from IE and the University of Chicago in Madrid, Spain. He also earned a law degree and master‘s degree in international law with a concentration in European law.
EVP, Global Operations
Mr. Musiello was promoted to the role of Executive Vice President, Global Operations in April 2013. In this role, he will lead the company’s global operations efforts, including; Brand Standards, Operations Excellence, Training and Equipment R&D. Most recently, Rodrigo served as Vice President, Global Operations. Under his direction, the company implemented the successful Coaches Program, which more than doubled the company’s field teams, as well as our new global virtual training platform, BK® GURU.
SVP, General Counsel and Secretary
Ms. Granat was appointed Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Burger King in February 2011, effective in March 2011. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Granat was Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Burger King from July 2009 until March 2011. Ms. Granat joined Burger King in 1998 as a member of the legal department and served in positions of increasing responsibility with the company.
VP, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer
Ms. Friesner was appointed Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Burger King in March 2011. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Friesner served as Senior Director, Global Accounting and Reporting from December 2010 until March 2011 and as Director, Global and Technical Accounting from November 2009 until December 2010. From October 2002 until December 2010, Ms. Friesner served in positions of increasing responsibility with the company. Before joining Burger King in October 2002, Ms. Friesner was an audit manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Miami, Florida.
